About the Tour

Take in the sights of the Sounds starting with Picton and the Queen Charlotte Sound, then north to Kenepuru and Pelorus Sounds. Then head south-east to Port Gore and Cape Jackson, past the historic Ship Cove and return to Picton with spectacular views of Cook Strait.

Landing at the remote grass airstrip into Port Gore is an exhilarating experience in itself. This is the resting place of the wreck MS Mikhail Lermontov – a Soviet Cruise liner that sank in the bay in 1986.  This is exclusive to Pelorus Air and highly recommended for those who love wilderness and adventure.

Take in the stunning scenery, walk along the beach, and enjoy the wild, beautiful and remote atmosphere of this special part of the Marlborough Sounds.

E-ko tours will supply complimentary hot and cold drinks and biscuits for a standard tour. For a deluxe visit, we can also add a bottle of local Pinot Gris wine. Or for the ultimate Luxury Tour, we can add a Picnic Basket and a local selection of wines.

5 Star 2018

Amazing experience, we saw a BLUE WHALE on the flight. The landing and take off from the remote grass airstrip was fantastic. The Pilot was very friendly and the information he gave excellently. A fantastic adventure and perfect way to see the Marlborough Sounds.
