These Qualifications be recognized by all 120 partners of the World Cetacean Alliance - meaning your qualification can take you all over the globe.

These qualifications will build on existing courses offered by WCA partners wherever possible with the intention of ensuring consistency and trust for partners, for employees and all concerned with responsible tourism.

These courses ensure maximum applicability to other work situations, to opportunities through life-skill development and, through the prestige within the quality assurance systems, to other industries, too.

Do you want to pass on your guiding experience and knowledge to new guides in the industry? The Guide Trainer level of the WCA Guide Career Path will allow you to achieve this, as you take on a hands-on training and supervisory role for trainee guides.

 MODULES INCLUDE:

  • Familiarisation of the WCA guide career path and training methods
  • Full knowledge of WCA Training System
  • Knowledge of Speciality Courses use across the Globe, up to 15 items.
  • Assisting a WCA Guide Trainer on a 5-day Practical Training Course
  • Undertake a supervisory role of students in training to be Marine Guides
  • Coordinate the Trainee Guide team, pinpointing areas of both strength and weakness – working with the team to ensure consistent quality and those learning goals are consistently met
  • Ensure consistent commentary content and delivery by all Guides
  • Complete Certified Marine Guide examinations and Certify your first Students

REQUIREMENTS TO PASS THE COURSE:

  • Be associated with a WCA training facility
  • Demonstrate you have worked a minimum of 12 months as a Senior Marine Guide with a WCA partner
  • Have exceptional organisational and leadership skills
  • Demonstrate you have the required teaching skills
  • Have extensive knowledge of 15 WCA specialties
