How we will keep you safe under Covid-19 restrictions.
Under level 2, we will be able to resume operating trips 😊 We will maintain social distancing and observe government guidelines during the experience.
See below for our plan to operate under the demands of Level 2. We will constantly review and evaluate this plan and adapt as necessary.
E-Ko provides small group Tours year-round, both on the water and on the Land. We focus on a quality experience in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds and by reducing our group numbers believe that this will only enhance your enjoyment of our Unique Fully Guided Tours.
COVID-19 Precautions Once operating:
To maintain safe operations, we will still be offering our Motuara Island and Dolphin watching cruise; Whales history and Wildlife cruise; Ship cove; Kaipupu Sanctuary and Bird Watcher tour.
Swimming with dolphins will not be available until July 1st to abide by the current regulations and policies.
BOOKING AND BEFORE TRIP
In terms of payment, online booking available as normal. We can take card details over the phone and process payments remotely before coming to the base.
It is essential we have contact detail, preferably a mobile phone number for all passengers prior to arrival. Booking direct with E-Ko online will gather all the information required prior to arrival.
If you are unable to book online please call or come into our shop at least 1 hour before the scheduled departure time.
Our boat is disinfected thoroughly after every use. Any equipment used or surfaces touched are also cleaned with disinfectant.
We provide face masks and hand sanitiser and disinfectant spray on board if required. Or bring your own 🙂
At the start of Level 2, we will operate with a maximum of 12 people per trip and 3 Crew maximum. This is to ensure there is enough room for everyone and ensure to abide by social distancing practices on board.
During your Fully Guided Walking experience on any of the Department of Conservation locations, we hold a concession for Social Distancing will be practised with a space of 2 m between walkers.
With our limited numbers to 12 Guest and 2 Guides maximum, this will mean an even better experience for you.
Facemasks and Hand sanitiser are available onboard prior to departure from the boat.
Biosecurity measures in place for Motuara Island require that you also check all your equipment before arrival for any unwanted pests and NO food is allowed on this Island. More details about E-Ko Tours Biosecurity Plan for our Bird Sanctuary Island can be found here;
We understand that this is a turbulent time for all and that plans are changing quickly and without notice. As such, if you need to cancel your trip due to anything Covid-19 related, we will offer a full refund or reschedule your trip for a more convenient time, whichever you prefer.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Our priority is the safety of anybody interacting with E-Ko Tours.
As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, we are ready to evolve with it and change our practices accordingly. But we want you to know that we are taking this situation very seriously and adjusting as necessary.
The only thing we care about more than getting out on the amazing Marlborough Sounds is making sure we are doing so safely for all involved.
THE MOST IMPORTANT
It’s just as important to remember the things that have NOT changed, nor will ever change. Like our super friendly guides who can’t wait to get out on the water with guests once again.
And our incredible Marlborough Sounds, observe the multiple species of wildlife on both the land and the Sea with No Seasickness Guaranteed. Our Tours are the perfect way for people to reconnect with nature, in a way that is fun and interactive. E-ko supplies this connection to nature to help balance and invigorate our lives after this difficult time.
Having FUN and being an active part of Conservation by taking an E-Ko Tour means you also automatically Give Back to Nature. A portion of every Tours proceeds goes into the E-Ko Conservation Fund.
